Skin Care Tips

Healthy skin is the result of several factors: a healthy diet, right amount of exercise, good skin care practices, a positive outlook, and a relaxed mind.

Lots of people at present are conscious of their health and are deciding on using the natural, or organic approach in dealing with their health issues. Your skin is no different.

Healthy eating is vital to having radiant skin. You should at least eat five servings of fruit and vegetable everyday to cleanse the body of toxins that may affect your metabolism. There are a lot of fruits and vegetables to choose from, but to get the most nutrition, think bright colors. These fruits and vegetables are loaded with phytochemicals, which are nutritional powerhouses. If you are not used to eating these kinds of food, introduce them into your diet little by little and soon you will naturally include them.

Make sure you get a good blend of essential fatty acids in your diet, like those found in fish oil, nuts and seeds. Supplementation with essential fatty acids supports your skin to become softer and smoother. They are necessary to make cells membranes and for many of the important hormones and other chemical messengers that support cell metabolism.

Only use skin care products that are gentle to your skin. With the availability of cleansing and moisturizing products that are all natural and made for sensitive skin, there is no excuse to use harsh products. Everyone's skin is different, so try several to see which products work best for you. When cleansing the skin use warm water over hot...it is not as drying and is more natural.

Drinking water is also crucial to keep the skin healthy. Almost all natural skin care recipes require water for externally cleaning the skin and for regular consumption. It helps to drink at least 6-8 glasses of pure water each day. After doing this for several days, you notice a difference in the way your skin feels and how your body functions.

Regular exercise provide the blood circulation necessary to maintain healthy skin and gives you a healthy glow. Try to find for a type of exercise that you enjoy doing so you won't mind doing it regularly. Exercise also relieves stress and helps in having a healthy mental disposition. Many people turn to yoga and meditation to keep high stress at a minimum and positive energy high.

Wear a sunblock every day. The primary cause of premature aging is exposure to the sun without protection.

Don't smoke. Smoking can cause the skin to age prematurely--think crow's feet and premature slash marks around your lips. No to mention your skin will take on an unflattering sallow tone.

Wear sunglasses... This will protect the eyes as well as the delicate skin around them. You don't need to buy expensive sunglasses, just make sure they provide UVA and UVB protection.

Finally, get enough rest so that your skin and entire body has time to repair itself. When you shortchange yourself on sleep, it naturally shows up on your face, so take the time to get a restful nights sleep. (Needless to say never sleep with makeup on, sleeping with makeup is very bad for your skin.)
